    Hey Sports Fans!

That intro was just to assure you that my account hasn't been hacked by a spambot.

There was a thread a few weeks ago about crap customer service/call centres, so I thought I'd write a positive review which may help you save some pennies.

Now I'm quite a clever lad (not meaning to blow my own trumpet) but I find energy bills and tariffs totally unfathomable. They are utter jargon to me, I don't really understand how they're calculated and why the bastards seem intent on screwing me for every penny I have.

Enter Home Energy Live - a small company who have, in all honesty, saved me a fortune and provided excellent customer service whilst doing so.

When myself and (the soon to be) Mrs CS first bought our house Home Energy Live contacted us after being given our details by our estate agent. They were friendly and helpful and explained about how I could get the best deal. Yesterday my fixed rate tariff came to an end and, surprise surprise, EDF announced my bills would increase by £22 per month!!!

I called up my estate agent and they gave me the contact details for Home Energy Live, who were delighted I'd remembered them; I spoke to the same guy I did last year and he got my energy bills back to £56 a month.

They were always totally upfront about the fact they get commission from whichever company they sell my business to, but as the chap rightly said I'm "always going to go with the cheapest deal" so there was no pressure selling.

I genuinely can't recommend their service enough - they even offered to call me back as it is a national rate number!!

If you're not on a fixed rate deal, call these guys to see if they can help you, the number is 0844 244 0008.

I'm not on commission for them, just wanted to share the great customer service they'd given me!

    OTBC!

Are they national, or just local to Norfolk?

I have had a similar experience with Ovo Energy. Can't fault em my bills went from £102 per month with Npower to £55 with Ovo and we're over £50 in credit with them now as well (meter readings submitted)

Their website is really nice to use and when you put a meter reading in it generates you a new bill and pdf there and then so you can see exactly where you are.

On top of that they pay 3% interest on any credit in your account!

After having the misfortune to deal with Scottish Power, Npower and British Gas in recent years (single fuel only no gas here) Ovo was a real change.

I think this is going to be it for the big 6 now we're going to have more of the small guys coming in
