James DeGale tried to serve notice of his intentions to chase down Carl Froch as he beat Croatian Stjepan Bozic at Bluewater last night but in the meantime is eyeing a rematch and WBC title eliminator with George Groves at QPR Football Club’s Loftus Road stadium.

    .

    ..
The Olympic champion from Harlesden has made no secret of his desire to face two-belt super-middleweight champion Froch, who memorably beat Mikkel Kessler in a thriller a fortnight ago.

DeGale spent the build-up to his bout with Bozic promising to end Froch’s career and hoped beating a man who had stopped Froch as an amateur would help him land his dream fight.

Bozic withdrew at the end of the fourth round, giving DeGale one part of his wish, but it remains to be seen whether or not Froch will answer his calls.

The Nottingham man is lining up a super-fight with Andre Ward in December or failing that a Kessler rematch, so DeGale may have to wait.

That could see his attentions turned to a rematch with his bitter London rival, who, two years ago, dished out DeGale’s only professional defeat so far and now holds the WBA title.

“I’d box Groves in my next fight, but I swear to God he does not want to box me. He doesn’t want it,” he said.

“That’s a massive fight. That could sell out QPR football stadium. I’d love to fight there. That’s my local club. I was brought up on that club - my granddad is a mad supporter.”

DeGale’s promoter Mick Hennessy, said: “Why not a final eliminator with George Groves for the WBC title [where] everything’s on the line?”

    Froch would humiliate him.

Groves would be good however. I thought he was unlucky not to get the decision first time round. However, Degale is a knob and not a QPR fan, local team or not.

Degale is a knob, but he's also Lee Cook's cousin. So it's very likely he is indeed a QPR fan
