This is by far and a way the best cyclist driver argument I've ever seen Any cyclists on here? Who's to blame here? I think the cyclists ignorant for holding up traffic when there's s cycle lane on the other side personally
4x4 twat thinks he owns the road. No excuse for his driving style, overtaking on a roundabout and finally getting out of his car to start on the cyclist. If the cyclist belongs on the cycle path, surely the 4x4 driver belongs on a field?
Not saying he should've list it , but it's very selfish and inconsiderate to not use the cycle lane imo . Its no wonder people hate cyclists when they opt for their rights ahead of common courtesy and their own safety in these situations. I think the cyclist was in the middle of the road also
I drive 10 miles into inner London for work - on average I see about 12 cyclists per trip. Some of these are on the road, cycling properly with helmets on, lights and paying attention to the highway code. There are some who just stick to the pavements. Then there are the others who cycle on and off the pavements with out any warning or signals, those that cycle through red lights, no helmets, no lights, weaving in and out, not obeying the rules of the highway code. Have seen in the last few months or so 2 incidents where by an accident was caused by a cyclist from this last category. Then have witnessed and involved in almost a dozen or so near accidents caused by the last group of cyclists.
I've personally been run into by one of these last types, when I was on my bike. He was cutting a corner by a traffic light, went across a lane of oncoming traffic and hit me. Just an absolute idiot, mumbled 'oh sorry mate' and rode off on the pavement. The folks in this vid are not that type of cyclist, it seems pretty clear they've spent a fair amount of money on their bikes, not just pinched them off a bike rack in town so likely not too happy with the idea of someone knocking them off because they're in the way.
I still don't see why they didn't just use the lane. If the answer is because I don't have to , then imo the cyclists are selfish and ignorant
Lol! I disagree - nothing wrong with the cyclist in this case. There is no cycle path on the road so no issue for me. Cyclists are allowed on the road. There does appear to be a single lane cycle path on the opposite side of the road which I would have assumed was for cyclists going in the opposite direction as they wouldn't both be able to pass each other. As for the driver - what a KNOB! Didn't see him overtaking with at least 1.5M gap! At first I was expecting it to be a BMW or an Audi ****er but no it's a big jeep in flat land ****er.
On the other side of the road for one. For two it is a single cycle lane (the other being pedestrian) therefore can only be for one direction only. For three the cyclist has as much entitlement to use the road as the big jeep flat land ****er
CC - you are worng by a long chalk on this one. The pavement in this video is split into two lanes - one for cyclists and one for pedestrians. The cycle lane can only be one direction only as it is not wide enough for two cyclists to pass one another. And if you watch the video you will notice dozens of cyclists going in both directions so for all of those to use a single laned path would end up in carnage. Please don't defend this ****er of a driver! I personally hate cyclists being allowed on the road but this cyclist has done nothing wrong whatsoever. The problem is that that driver was in such a rush I bet if there were no cyclists that yellow small car would have been on the receiving end of his wrath.
Cycle lanes are marked by a white line (which may be broken) and are found alongside the carriageway. Although not compulsory, you should use thelanes whenever practical as they canmake your journey safer. If you need to leave the cycle lane, always check that it is safe to do so and signal to other road users. tracks are provided for bicycle use only and have a kerb line separating them from the road. Here are some points to remember: cyclists are most at risk when entering and exiting the cycle track there are no rules about which side of the track to use but cyclists generally keep to the left be aware of pedestrians and other road users who may need to cross the track you're required by law to have a bell to alert other road users that you're there you should always be considerate to other road users who give way to you So sorry mate but you can't say I'm wrong because it's one of these situations where it's hard to say whos right or wrong but I'm right basically I'm Not condoning the drivers behaviour, but imo the only answer the cyclist can give for not using a cycle lane is that I don't have to which is selfish and ignorant. The fact not one cyclist on either side is using the lane tells me everything about cyclists selfish attitudes on the roads.
The bloke in the 4x4 is a complete ****ing weapon in my opinion. Are you even allowed to cycle against the traffic in a cycle lane? Cyclists are also allowed to cycle two abrest legally as long as it's not a narrow road or on a bend, I don't think the cyclist has done anything wrong in my opinion. The 4x4 driver is a typical all mouth no trousers jumped up little prick though...all ****ing talk. I hope he hasn't got kids who have seen that vid. Imagine if a motorist reacted to one of his kids on their bikes like that...i'm sure he'd feel a bit differently.
I can't tell from the video how wide that cycle path is on the other side to be honest. If it's single lane (it doesn't look double tbh, then I wouldn't use it myself when going against the traffic, be more likely to cause an injury than if I was on the road. If it was wide enough then yeah the cyclist should have been using it. That is less of an issue than that driver though, he was looking for a fight there and was going to pick on anyone he fancied. People get very territorial about their vehicles and he clearly has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Cyclist should have shut up too though, I'd have probably settled for a "calm down shorty you'll give yourself a heart attack". Both properly lost their cool. In my experience about 10-20% of cyclists are inconsiderate tossers but the percentage drivers who are selfish road users is much higher.
The only bit of the video where the cyclist kind of annoyed me was at the very end. There must clearly be a back-up of traffic as they've been in the road for 3-4 mins and yet they cycle 2 abreast immediately when they could have taken a breather and waved some cars through. They didn't have to but i would have done 100%.
Cyclists are all the same not any one of them on either side was using the lane and that tells me everything. I hate cyclists.
There are no rules about which side to use regards cycle lanes mate ... not one travelling in either direction has the God damn decency to use it and that should tell you everything really. Why not use the lane? Because I don't have to is the only answer and that's by definition both selfish and ignorant. The drivers by definition a lunatic might I add.... I think he's missing his satellite dish too possibly
