Just happily listening to the Flaming Lips (first time since the last music thread) & friends with their fantastically oddball version of the Dark Side of the Moon album.

Highly recommend it to those Pink Floyd fans who also like a bit of psychedelic, sonic mayhem and those that like the latter but not necessarily the former.

Does anyone have any personal favourite cover versions?

    Mine would be:-

Jim Hendrix - All along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan)
Futureheads - Hounds of Love (Kate Bush) (my other half hates what they did to the song)
Gene - Don't Let Me Down (Beatles)

Round Here by the Counting Crows

You ain't goin' nowhere by the Counting Crows

Anything covered by Hendrix - Like a Rolling Stone and Hey Joe stand out after the previously mentioned Watchtower which was equally well covered by U2.

I also have a soft spot for Mrs Robinson by The Lemonheads

"Still haven't found what I'm looking for" - Pauline Henry, massively better than the (original by Bonio and his U2)

I'd forgotten about his version of Sunshine of your Love, good call HP.

Joe Cocker has produced some magnificent covers, Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, With a Little Help from My Friends, Just like a Woman, Unchain my Heart and Bye Bye Blackbird. Yes seriously Bye Bye Blackbird with Jimmy Page on guitar, truly magnificent.

Radiohead - Nobody Does it Better (Carly Simon)
Placebo - Where is my Mind (Pixies)

Oh and the Hendrix version of Day Tripper while we're listing his ones.

From memory The Beatles are the most covered artists, but Dylan can't be far behind.

Can I also add Nothing Compares 2 U, Sinead O'Connor covering Prince

    Thanks for this thread Matt.
