OT - Clint Hill

Listening to a radio programme on the Kennedy assassination. Turns out the secret service agent who ran from the car behind and tried to shield Jack and Jackie was called Clint Hill. Somehow pleasing and appropriate.

Would the world be any different had Kennedy survived? My vote no, and he certainly would not be the iconic figure he is today.

Have you never seen the episode of Red Dwarf that addresses this very question?

 

Red Dwarf myu favourite comedy from the 90's, a pity about the "Back to Earth 3 parter"

 

I suppose Red Dwarf is as good a source of alternative history speculation as any. Mark Lawson's "Idlewild" (the original name of JFK airport) is another, a what if both Kennedy and Monroe had lived? kennedy doesn't come out of it well.

 

IMO Red Dwarf would be a better source of history than a source of comedy entertainment............utter dross!!

 

I think his brother Bobby was the more principled politician and would have had a bigger impact than JFK had they both survived.

 

They would have just got him in another plot. TPTB wanted him dead.

 

Fabulous. Putting your body on the line clearly goes with the name.

 

I also read that the second bullet that shot Kennedy, was actually fired accidently by one of the Secret Service agents who rushed to protect him. This was covered up by the US government so to save any embaressment.
