Just a reminder that this period in 1940 the Battle of Britain began and lasted 3 weeks. Had we lost it then we would not be here.

For a full on invasion the germans would still have had to cross the channel by sea, where the royal navy, even without superior air support, would have blown them out the water! Still, the whole episode, bravery and sacrifice certainly makes the hair stand up on the back of the neck!!

The whole of Europe should have a bank holiday for Battle of Britain day (the beginning of the end for nazis) & D-day, we should have one for Dunkirk, the biggest miracle of them all!

The turning point of the war was the Whermacht turning south to capture the Russian oil fields as they reached the outskirts of Moscow. The attritional stalemate they found themselves in in Stalingrad and the resulting rout was the end for them. Had the Germans achieved an occupation of Britain the Russians would still have captured Berlin
