I note that Mr Bradley Manning now wishes to be known as Chelsea. Looking at pictures of him dressed as a woman I can't get beyond Brentford.

Chuckle. Have to say that a career in the military was rather an odd choice for a man/would-be woman with the kind of objections to government action he/she does. As for the sex-change thing - let me get on with, just as long as it's not on the NHS!
Its amazing what brainwashing can do to you. They made him sleep naked on a hard bed with no mattress or covers, with the bright lights constantly on and woke him up every hour as a pretence it was to stop him killing himself. Go through a couple if years of that and your brain does funny things.
Well, of course you would know what it's like to be on the "other side" and how far to go, wouldn't you, eh?
