We hear of these stories many a time, paramedice being attacked, fire fighters often get abused and attacked. Should the laws be toughened up, to deal with people who attack the emergency services? Video has emerged of firefighters coming under fire from a volley of rockets as they arrived to tackle a blaze in a Leeds street. The footage shows a man carrying a fire hose ducking for cover as showers of sparks explode around him. The fire crew arrives to find two small blazes are alight in the street, apparently to draw it to the area. As the first firefighter gets out of the fire truck to investigate, several people are seen emerging from a side street, with one of them holding something. Suddenly the fire crew comes under fire, with several rockets hitting the front of the fire truck and another narrowly missing the firefighter. He is then seen cowering as a series of explosions detonate around him, accompanied by loud bangs. Eventually, when they are sure it is safe, the crew is able to put out the burning rubbish. http://news.sky.com/story/1361105/fire-crew-faces-bonfire-season-rocket-attack
****ing Leeds. Should carry a life sentence of getting their stupid Yorkshire faces grated down to a stump.
Some parts of Leeds really are the bottom of the barrel like. Couple of years ago was visiting a mate who goes to uni there, had a night out, we all headed back to his flat. Woke up the next morning, opened the front door, some police were just arriving and were in the process of erecting a white tent right on the doorstep. Asked what was going on, the reply "some Asian kids got himself stabbed, nothing for you to worry about lads." Frightening.
Maybe it was that I found out afterwards it was an Asian lad and I've linked the two into one, or maybe he did say it, can't exactly remember to be honest. Wasn't expecting the comment to be critically scrutinised to be fair lol. Anyway, I will say that it was that, or words to that effect
Not in Leeds Indy. I lived in Chapeltown for about eighteen months, and frankly, I'm surprised that some of Leeds police would keep it as polite as "some Asian kid". It is the most fascist city I have ever lived in.
I design and build the fire engines. They are fitted with anti bandit windows, full video surveillance kit for just this purpose. Must say it happens a lot more often than is publicised, little fu**ers start small fire to draw them in and then ambush them. Just supply the crew with guns so they can open up back at them.
