Had this piece for a long long time. When I first got it ,petrol and diesel prices went up monthly. Now they go up by the hour. ADD granny tax, pensions, sausage rolls and pastys, what the **** is going wrong?

This is too true to be funny.
The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

    A.
A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

    B.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

    C.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

    D.
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

    E.
A billion Pounds ago was only 13 hours and 12 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

    Stamp Duty
    Tobacco Tax
    Corporate Income Tax
    Income Tax

    Council Tax
    Unemployment Tax
    Fishing Licence Tax
    Petrol/Diesel Tax
    Inheritance Tax
    (tax on top of tax)
    Alcohol Tax
    V.A.T.
    Marriage Licence Tax
    Property Tax
    Service charge taxes
    Social Security Tax
    Vehicle Licence Registration Tax
    Vehicle Sales Tax
    Workers Compensation Tax

    STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world.

We had absolutely no national debt.
We had the largest middle class in the world. Mum stayed home to raise the kids, Dad was allowed to discipline kids

    a criminals life was uncomfortable.

    What the hell happened?

    'Political Correctness', ‘Politicians or both?'

Now how has this come about, like the song says " I predict a riot "

A hundred years ago women were not deemed worthy enough to even have a vote.
A hundred years ago there was no NHS, and if you couldn't afford treatment you died.
A hundred years ago the poor went hungry and couldn't afford shoes.
A Hundred years ago children were forced to work down mines or up chimneys to make ends meet.

I'm still not sure why our money was used to bail out the banks when their CEO's etc were worth hundreds of millions. Why didn't they use their own money? Oh that's right those of us with little or nothing could pay and they kept all their money and continued paying themselves big bonuses with our money.

Most of our taxes are paying debt. The raid on public sector pensions is going to pay debt. None of this dent created by us!

Spot on - I think when you look at the "Tax" to buy and run a car:

    1. Income tax paid on the money earned
    2. VAT paid on the price of your car
    3. Road Tax payable by all road-going vehicles
    4. VAT payable on Fuel
    5. Fuel Duty payable on fuel

so in order to drive, you have to give the Government 5 different types of cash! Generally a ****ing joke (and not one of the funny variety!)
