Google will normally change the font for the Google letters on their web site for anything from World Book Day to Stick Your Fingers Up Your Nose Week. It therefore seems strange that they haven't commemorated American Independence Day at all in this way. Perhaps they're being sensitive to us Brits in case we're still holding a grudge? Just something that occurred to me when using Google just now. Anyway Happy Indepence Day to our thousands of US Hoops out there.

It could be a cock up by Google. Apparently they put up something completely irrelevant initially on D-Day's anniversary.

Yup, I just checked. Google over here has a 'Happy 4th of July' message.
