I'm loathe to share this first bit of information with you, but **** it. My mum was born in Newport in South Wales (), BUT was taken by my gran and grandad to Liverpool when she was 3 months old. She grew up in Woolton and at the age of 11, won a scholarship to go to Merchant Taylor's Girls School in Crosby. Cut to today. As I speak/type, my eldest daughter has her first real interview for her first real job, to teach History at... Merchant Taylor's High School for Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How's that for a ****ing coincidence. Any of you had any similar experiences?
All coming out now fellas welcome to Wales. Your all invited to mine for breakfast on sunday for a full Welsh breakfast.
well my surname couldn't be any more welsh if i tried (don't think it can anyway) jenkins. maybe i could marry Katherine jenkins then she wouldn't need to change her name i ****ing wish. you know when she was living in london years ago doing her singing etc she got bullied or something like that, ****e world we live in really isnt it.
Congratulations to your eldest daughter. I can imagine the competition for that post was fierce. My Ma was born in Liverpool but both of her parents were Scottish and never lost their accents. My Ma became a GPO telephonist and had to adopt a 'posh' accent - but I didn't!
Its from the mothers side, I only ever met him once though as he and my Nan had a big fall out and didn't speak for years meaning my mum didn't see him either. He died shortly after meeting but I think he was poorly and that's why we went #fullofchristmascheertoday
