http://www.irishcentral.com/opinion...s-truth-behind-800-orphans-in-mass-grave.html 796 children found in a septic tank, allegedly. Surely this cannot be true?
Mainstream media has now picked up story in last 30 minutes: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...babies-site-Irish-home-unmarried-mothers.html
just had a look and sadly it seems to be true. They were know as the home babies and were lets just saw not look after kindly. It happened between 1925 and 1962. Their mothers were classed as fallen women of this workhouse.
If it was run by nuns, where was the local priests to provide a burial service? Supposedly run by people, many have held trust in but have proved otherwise ............. another very sad story.
Nothing on Irish Times or Irish Independent's sites about this, although it was briefly covered last Friday on a radio phone in show. Nothing would surprise me about what went on/goes on in this country. Where underprivileged children were/are concerned everybody looked/looks the other way while rebel songs and proclamations are regarded as worthy of our most abiding interest.
