OT - 10 years of Roman

10 years ago today Roman Abramovich took over as Chelsea owner. Buying the heavily indebted club and proceeding to buy buy buy.

A hero for few whilst a major reason for the mercenary culture that's helping to ruin the game.

Personally as a none Chelsea fan I struggle to think of any positives he has bought to the game. If anything hes made it acceptable for a club to be a circus, treat people like **** and respect few boundaries in the pursuit of success.

In football terms hes the most clueless man in football. The amount of interfering he does and the buying of players who simply dont fit the system makes him the worst kind of chairman. Tried to buy greatness but for all hes spent and all hes won his club isn't the best in the land, europe or the world, far from if anything.

 

The only plus side is he has made the PL or entertaining, as in more that 1 team can win the league

 

And that in nutshell is why you lot hate him. He gets right up your arses. Long live Roman Abramovic!

We dont hate him. hes affected us less than most. We have 5 PL titles in his 10 years, 50% of the titles available.

It was a 2 team league as well, not a 1 team league.

 

This is true. Since Abramovic arrived it's Arsenal who have disappeared.

I couldn't care less about him. Or City.

The fact that we've been more successful than the Chavs during Roman's splurge speaks volumes about our club. Since City began their own splurge the Chavs have been relegated to also rans which speaks volumes about their club.

How exactly have you been more successful? You've won the same amount of major trophies, and I'm being generous by counting the club world cup .

 

We've won 5 league titles to your 3 league titles. I appreciate that you're relatively new to all of this but the league is what it's all about, not the League Cup or the Europa League. Very generous of you to be generous about the club world cup, just one of many things Chavski like to erase from their "history".

I know you have, it's not exactly a landslide is it? We've won 11 major honours since Roman joined, you've won 10. Therefore we have had more success.

League trophies are everything Drogs, only the Champions League can compete with that. We have been the best over the last 10 years in the country but then we have had the best manager over this period. The next 10 years will be interesting.

We have been more successful, unless you count FA Cups and Europa Leagues the same as a premier league for which they are no where close.

I think you've been the most consistent, by some distance, over the past 10 years but I think having the best side has differed between the two of us before we hired AVB. 03-06 I believe we were a lot better, 06-08 you were better, 08-10 we were better (CL Final included, you did beat us but it was a very even fixture) and since then you have been a lot better, even with City winning the league last season I thought you did very well to only lose on GD.

I get the point you're both making, but we have still accrued more success than you have over this period. Unless we had won zero League titles I wouldn't swap ours with yours.
