Any chance of him being the answer to our right wing problems. He’s got pace. Use both feet. Eye for goal. Interchange with Isak if both playing at same time. Be a nightmare for defenders. Any thoughts
Dunno, just hope he gets played more now and gets more chances, took his chance well yesterday and deserves more opportunities.
He's quick and looks promising but very "raw". Also, he's a "striker" as opposed to a winger with a different set of skills being required for each position. He doesn't automatically come across to me as a potential winger but who knows. For me, especially at this level, I feel a Murphy upgrade is required and it's a "Gordon" level upgrade we should be looking at meaning Oooo might be adequate as cover but cannot see him as the actual upgrade itself.
Took his goal fantastically well and yeah he could do a job out there by the look of things but I'd want him playing CF if that's where his long term future is, maybe giving Isak a rest in some games when they are done early.
No, he's not a winger in the sense of what Newcastle need, which is someone who really understands the need to provide width and cover. We have played several times recently with Jacob Murphy as right wing back; it's a small tactical tweak we've used against stronger teams, where we've kind of gone into a 5-4-1 shape with Bruno G almost wide right. So any notion that Osula could do the job, or indeed players like Kolo Muani, is wide of the mark. Firmly believe we'll go all out for someone young and versatile, either Dibling or Harrison Armstrong. What is great is that Osula has shown he can deputise for Isak - for me, that saves us a lot of money and means we can really concentrate on sorting RW, RCB and - critically - the goalkeeper.
This is basically my feeling also. Osula looks a raw talent. But has all the physical attributes to make the CF work. We can use him as an alternative aswell. But he’s not a winger.
Very highly rated kid, plays up and down the right side of midfield/attack, 17 years old and recently MOTM in the Toffees cup match vs P'boro. Slightly younger version of Dibling, basically.
Everything I can find on the lad says he's a CM, although you are right he did play vs Peterborough out on the RW (the only time he's played out there this season): https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harrison-armstrong/leistungsdaten/spieler/1107733 Pos - apps - goals - assists Central Midfield 4 2 - Centre-Forward 1 - - Right Winger 1 - 1 Attacking Midfield 1 - 1 Defensive Midfield 1 - -
Oh I assumed it was a missing comma and was referring to Alfie Harrison and some kid called Armstrong I hadn't heard of (it's not exactly an umcommon name).
