The screenwriter for this movie was never nominated for an Oscar, but based on the brilliance of this scene alone, I believe it was a horrible injustice. Shakespeare himself would have certainly boycotted the ceremonies on principle, knowing the significance of this work went unrecognized.
This one not quite Scent of a Woman good, but certainly Oscar worthy. please log in to view this image
In his later career he's had loads of "big shouty" characters. "Devil's Advocate" "Scent of a Woman" "Heat" "Sea of Love" "The Recruit" ...all the same big shouty character. Pacino was amazing when young; "Godfather", "Dog Day Afternoon", "Serpico" but then turned to an utter shouty pile of ****e.
Agree... preferred him during 70s and 80s. Did you see that film you like won an Oscar the other night?
All Hugh Grant does is try and look cute and cuddly and emotionally accessible, for??? **** if I know. Now, if he could yell like Pacino, might be something there.
Wisny "Birdman" was it? I managed to watch 20 minutes of that. Can anybody claim to have watched any more than 20 minutes? I doubt it.
