Pistorius' defence are now pointing the finger at the arresting detective being on an attempted murder charge.

Apart from the fact that is wholly irrelevant to the case, surely that means that the arresting detective knows what a homicidal maniac looks like?

  5. He's not the OIC any longer......... apparently on 7 attempted murder charges re the shooting at a minibus. In all truth, probably not the best person to put in change of the highest profile S African murder investigation since Steve Biko!!!

The media seem to be a little confused over whether this is the 'murder' weapon or not:

It's a picture of the drawer under Pistorius' bed. The weapon he used was a silver coloured 9mm Taurus pistol:

    So that'll be it, then.

The prosecution seem to be astoundingly incompetent, going by the media reports of the bail hearing.
Perhaps they're just treating a lot of this as a given, as it's not the trial and they don't have to prove his guilt?

The S.A. authorities haven't just shot themselves in the foot, so far. They've blown the ****ing thing off!!. This should have been a relatively simple prosecution - I mean, first place a burglar heads is your bathroom, right? <doh>

His whole 'I'm so scared of intruders!' defence is a load of bollocks, too.

He's so scared that he leaves the balcony doors open? <doh>
Then he believes that the intruder got in through the bathroom window, rather than the open door, so he must've left that open, too.
Also fails to notice that his girlfriend's not in bed, despite going to the balcony and returning to his gun, which would mean going past the side of the bed that she'd be on twice.

    Right!

Often burglars go to the bathroom during their crimes. It's where the drugs are found.

  12. The voice of experience Inda?? <whistle>

Actually, if a burglar went into my bathroom the best he could hope for would be some double strength paracetamol and a few Immodium sachets!! Well, isn't that the stuff all us Spurs fans have to hand??

I would love to say I'm surprised he was given bail but then I'd be lying.

He's not a flight risk though, as he's got enough money to get off the charges, so he's got no reason to do a runner, if you'll pardon the awful pun.

With the way that this investigation has been going, it wouldn't surprise me if they tagged one of his prosthetics, to be honest.

The idea that he can't leave South Africa because he couldn't get through an airport without anyone recognising him is one of the dumbest things that I've ever heard.
Our justice system's appalling, but this whole thing's been a ****ing joke, so far.

In the UK, Pistorius' unsuccessful bail application would have taken about ten minutes.

Time to rip this one to shreds:
1.) So, at no point did he notice Steenkamp wasn't in bed next to him?
2.) Linked to #1 - the first response should be, as Steenkamp wasn't in bed, it was her in the bathroom. Leave the illogical thought processes to child murdering fraudsters on holiday in Portugal.
3.) Apart from this is typical defence attorney bollocks to fit a story to the evidence, again wouldn't he have noticed Steenkamp shouting back she was on the khazi?
4.) Again, the assumption it's a burglar when, by this point, Steenkamp would have said she was in the toilet. Also, witnesses say there were three shots fired then, some time afterwards, a fourth.
5.) Again, trying to fit a story to the evidence. Also, the ballistics report has stated the trajectory of the bullets do not match Pistorius' account, plus bullet casings were found inside the lavatory, not on the other side of the door as Pistorius claims.
6.) There is no evidence of the door being smashed open with a cricket bat. Also, by this time, the fourth shot would have been fired - as in Pistorius, finding Steenkamp alive, finished the job.
7.) Why would anyone carry someone who had been hit with multiple gunshots downstairs before attempting to revive them?

Why feel the need to state the bloody obvious? We can all see he's lying. Your dig in item 2 is unworthy of you.
