Glad to read that Orlandi has signed an extension to his contract. I think the guy has great technical ability and although a bit lightweight, his skills may be better suited to the premiership. I feel he will fair better that Gomez when he tried to step up to the challenge at Wigan. Although I don't think he'll be a first-choice midfielder, I didn't think that Mark Gower would have adapted as well as he did last year, and look what happened to him. He had a fine season although it did fall away a bit at the end I suppose with less involvement after Leon returned from his sabbatical. Still, glad to see Orlandi is staying. No news on a 'keeper though... but keep the faith. I'm sure Huw & Brendan will come up trumps!
I'm sure they are going to do the same with most of the last-year deals now. He's a good player to have in the squad, decent technique, fairly versatile and importantly he seems to have an affinity with the club and to be happy being a squad player, guys like that are always useful to have around.
I'm not that keen on Orlandi TBH. He's a bit of a luxury - we seem to get overrun a bit in midfield when he plays, because he doesn't put the foot in enough. I don't think he'll see many minutes of PL game-time (unless we're winning a game comfortably and he can come off the bench to give someone a bit of a rest). Still, nice to see his commitment to the club, all good for club morale.
I think Orlandi is a really talented player and I'm glad he's been signed up. I remember the first time I saw him he was a winger against Tranmere or someone and he was sublime down the wings. Now though he's got to really put that talent into his MF role especially in the Premier League!
I remember the first time I saw him play... (perhaps in the FA cup?) I think it was a televised game and he looked the most skillful player on the park. I've always liked him, but too easily pushed off the ball one minute, then lunge in the next and get a card.
Not sure I'm that pleased he's had an extension, although he can be very skillful he is easily knocked off the ball and the prem is a tough league.Suppose as a back up he'd be ok.
Of all the players I've tried to figure out from my peers , Orlandi is the toughest . There seems to be no middle ground , either no good or good , nothing in between it seems from most fans .
Campion i am with you. Not that fussed. think he has had lots of time. But just doesnt seem to do it. He seems to have loads of talent but hasnt improved. I wonder whether he is suited to the British game. Still he has signed so i for one will get behind him.
Pleased he's signed, and still with us, always liked Orlandi, very talented player, though I have to concede he can be light in the tackle, I know some don't rate him, but I have always considered Orlandi to be talented, hope he improves on last season though!............. please log in to view this image
Strange, EVERYONE I know seems to agree he is a decent player who can do a job when asked but will never be more than a squad player, which is distinctly middle ground if you ask me.
Yeah, fair shout. He can blatantly play a bit, and would be a stand out player for a mediocre League One side. Given his lack of regular starts last year, I'm a little surprised by this, but if Buck and Huw reckon he's important for the team, then that's good enough for me.
All fine as long as HJ allows BR to strengthen, only the next 6 weeks will tell With baited breath I wait and hope.
