Does anybody on here go to or play in these? Or on any other type of march.

I've had 3 round my way in the past 3 weeks - wee mini ones - but I find them annoying ...especially when I'm either stcuk in traffic or can't hear my TV.

I think all marches should be banned from the streets and held in a park (like Bellahouston or Queens Park) like the pipe band contest etc

Does the orange order (or any other organisation) contribute to the costs of policing etc?

Whatever it is, I don't see the point/need for any of the walks to be held in public, blocking roads, holding up traffic, disturbing the peace etc

Big get together in a park (even with a beer tent/facilities) - with the even organiser arranging secuity etc

Then you can celebrate all you want, to whatever floats yer boat!

I was having a little thought about this the other day. Thought I should bring my kids out to see the marches in Belfast so that they didn't grow up with the same kind of hatred or ignorance that I did.

Then I thought it about it a little more and realised that actually even if my kids did embrace the other culture my kids can't ever actually hope to take part in any of these marches, because my kids were actually baptised Catholic (albeit non practicising) - and the Orange not only doesn't allow Catholic members but also expels you as a member if you marry a Catholic or baptise any of your kids Catholic, so my missus as a Protestant is actually barred from joining this organisation even if she was inclined to do so.

So while I would honestly like to try embrace the culture on the other side of the fence - I don't think it would actually be possible while the central basis of the entire culture is Protestant domination over Catholicism?

And I don't even believe in ****in god either!

And you do kinda need to believe in god to be an orangeman. Strange how most of the wee neds following the walk don;t believe in a god. Infact most of them don't even know what it's all about. the think it's just something to do with Rangeres the wee **** nuggets <grr>

I don;t believe in god but they should be allowed to walk. Although when 1 side of glasgow grinds to a halt on a saturday and noone can get moving because of them it pisses me off!

Most walks round my way are done deliberately through or clise to catholic areas simply to try and annoy/put catholics out.

Ive no problems with them celebrating their culture but i do have a problem when they try to ram it down the throats of others.

As said above go and do it in their own areas/in a park etc and have a laugh. Dont go to an area where you are shocked you get a reaction out of some catholics by waving your union jacks and singing songs about murdering catholics.

Its got **** all to do with celebrating culture IMO now and simply a tool to annoy others. If it was a celebreation then there is no reason not to do it in an area of likeminded people. But then i suppose if they did that they'd not want to make the mess they do on their own doorsteps

not really ; he gets sentenced to death however while in prison boo radley breaks into the cell and gets him out , cause Boo knew what the comdemned man - Tom? - knew ; she was asking for it! So they become fugitives , travel throughout america , wanted men ; eventually stow away on a ship to europe ; Boo Radley is tragically drowned when the ship goes down in a storm , however , Tom, the rapist , survives clinging to some wreckage and eventually gets picked up by a cargo freighter. He sails with them to their next port , Ghana , where he successfully establishes an orange lodge. <ok>
