Difficult to tell from just commentry but it sounded like he had a few chances and the stats show the system seemed to work so based on that, I'll say yes. Nothing against Miller and I know the 25 attempts were spread across the team but a new front man might be the difference between one and three points. Is that Earnie or someone new? (I don't think Rudy is quite there yet) ...time will tell
That's not a bad idea - the down side for us is they might replace him with a bloke who can score goals in the division they are in (something they didn't consider when they bought Graham).
I repeat, Kenny Miller is rubbish. This is not the SPL and he's out of his depth. We need another striker.
But Miller plays awesome for Scotland ...... A bit more time and he might be able to replicate that form.....??? Stuff it, we need somebody else!
Yeah...we are sitting in a good spot, but Portsmouth and Blackpool should have been 2 wins and not 2 draws. I actually think a striker needs to be out first target....didn't think that a month ago,
Siam - I understand Malky is a big fan of Percy Vere. I hope he can do the business for us if he goes for him.
Funny old game. Here we are, 6th place, one loss all season having totally outplayed a team just down from the premier league and we're unhappy. What would we be like if we'd lost 3 or 4. These draws will become wins and more goals will come from the strikers as well as the rest of the team. We've not played the benchmark 10 games yet so there is time. I'd have taken our current position at this point of the season if offered it at the start.
Remote - I don't think it's a question of being unhappy pal - just one of what might have been. Saying we have "totally outplayed" someone and then still failed to win is the real issue here and how to rectify that is what we're talking about. Being in a playoff spot after 7 games is not to be sneezed at, but we pinched it at West Ham and were well beaten by Brighton. We could (and should) have won at both Portsmouth and Blackpool given our performances in those games. Solid defence is the basis of any successful team, but you win it up front - we need to win games not draw them. As far as I'm concerned, we dropped four points in those two games which would put us in and auto spot rather than 6th. Not really complaining mate, just discussing.
Yeah, no probs sparkey. I was just pointing out that after 10 new arrivals and 12 departures, we're probably slightly ahead of where I'd have expected us to be. The fact that we can outplay Blackpool speaks volumes. I'll always take another player better than the ones we've got and always take a player performing better than they currently are (however well they are playing). I try to avoid the 'woulda, coulda, shoulda' discussions as you can't go back. Don't disagree about the conversion rate of opportunities though. The real problem would be if we weren't creating. Happy to discuss.
