I know, it's something many of us don't experience ever. But at what point over the last few years have you been most optimistic about the future? For me, it's 3-0 against Reading last season, Shola scoring a hat-trick. I really felt then that we were good enough to get away from the CCC, and not do a Leeds. And we haven't looked back since. What about you?
When we beat Spurs 4-1 at White Hart Lane. I thought we could really kick on from there and challenge for Europe the following season. Also the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in 08/09 season, first game of the season, all looked so promising.
I started to get optimistic about our future earlier in the season. The sale of Andy Carroll rocked this a little, but gradually it has returned and I am guardedly optimistic about our future. If we manage to keep Baton, Enrique etc, and make a few good signings in the summer I will be looking forward to a new season for the first time in quite a few years.
When Keegan started the 08/09 season and the way Gutierrez ripped Man Utd apart. Thought we were looking at the top 5 but oh no it's Newcastle so it ended in tears.
Along with that game against Man Utd... I also remeber this... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6729215.stm
When we beat Sunderland 5-1 followed by 1-0 away win at Arsenal I was very optimistic But then we got beat off ****ing Blackburn at home and 0-0 home to Fulham afterwards
