make of them what you will but I just thought I'd share the fact that bobby zamora was 3rd in distance covered yesterday. he was fractionally behind granero and faurlin. for a big front man he really does work his socks off every week. it may not always be effective but he his trying. great to Ali back to near full fitness too.
Yes Zamora puts in a shift but I don't think he won a single header yesterday which is a bit damning for a target man. The other problem is his pace of course. Once he gets going he is as quick as anyone but he takes so long to get up to speed that the opportunity is often gone by the time he gets there. He needs to be used selectively where his style and abilities gives us an advantage.
Simply un true to say he didnt win a header. Also you seem to have a very simple view of a target man as some one who does flick on''s. He took the ball down on his chest and layed it off plenty of times, and Mikel and Luiz couldnt cope with him in the air and conceded fouls against him climbing all over him but you fail to mention this. For me he is first pick out of the strikers simply because he is the only one who can play up front on his own and Cisse and AJ are much more effective if they play alongside him
