Bit bored so hope you don't mind if I do one! Positives Allen looks to be a brilliant acquisition Lucas yet to come back Sterling and Suarez definitely causing problems down the wing thoug suarez doesn't have the composure for a striker Not afraid to attack Negatives Defensively left way too open IMO and you guys don't have substantial cover for agger and skrtle other than Coates Lack of striker options though having said that it's far too early to write off borini I'm sorry to say this as he's my favourite player outside arsenal but Gerard has looked poor Striker problem is oblivious no need to elaborate tbh Things to take into consideration Sahin and borini are new to the league (borini never really played in the pl) New manager entails a shift in attacking philosophies Had you been more clinical the scoreline may have been massively different The blame on failure to snap up Dempsey should be geared towards the management and not Rodgers Not only has your team been overhauled but so has formation and position of certain players Not the right time to judge new acquisitions I would imagine this would be your team for most of the season seems good IMO though not sure if you'll agree Reina Johnson agger skrtel Enrique Allen Lucas shelvey sterling Borini suarez
Thats only 10 players. Last time I checked we are allowed to play with 11 men from the start. Anyway Borini isnt being played as a CF and being used as a RW (mistake IMO)
Editted now my bad. Think shelevey looked good so ive stuchin him in whereas sahin and allen are the same type
Borini is a natural striker, he proved that on loan to us, he is being played out of position on the wing, he doesn't quite have the pace for that, and he wasn't happy out wide when at Roma, but it was the only way he would get games. Rodgers knows his potential leading the line, why he plays him out wide is a mystery. Be good to see Rodgers swap the positions of Suarez and Borini!....................
Good post! I would like to see us going with Borini up top aswell in our next game. I would go with: Reina (Doni if he's actually available) Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson Allen, Sahin Suarez, Shelvey, Stering Borini
I reckon we should leave Suarez and Gerrard out of the team for the game against Sunderland and just see how we do. please log in to view this image Coates because I think we need a change in defence, something is obviously going wrong and also because his extra height will protect against Fletcher's aerial presence hopefully.
I thought Enrique had a pretty bad game today. Defensively he wasn't bad at all but with the ball at his feet he seems to give it away far too easily, especially considering he's Spanish!
Agree with this, would love to see them switched. Suarez was used on the right at Ajax as I understand and looks better there for Uraguay. Bugged me last season when Hendo was used on the right of midfield and got slated, if you put him in the centre he quietly does a good jon and plugs the gaps like Didi used to. Had a few good posts from the Swans this evening, not counting that graduate fool. Thanks to the OP too for a balanced and reasonable post. I applaud you, sir. In fact, could someone rep him on my behalf?
Good article. All good points. Ze, i'd agree with that team. Would like to think Rodgers has the balls and intelligence to do it, but can't see it happening. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Assaidi for Sterling the only change which would be ridiculous.
I think if we're dropping anyone it should be Johnson. Can't just let your man run past u like that, I was screaming before the pass was made, knew that'd be 1-0. Can't believe how vulnerable we were on the counter, get Kelly in there next game
Liverpool baiting aside..... They played well again but just cant score. One of my Liverpool supporting mates kept banging about poor reffing and yet more bad luck but as I pointed out to him! lol You cant keep shooting out the same excuses week after week. I thought Howard Webb had another decent game, he let Suarez get away with murder on the Arsenal keeper at times.
