Opposition will begin to see De Gea as a defensive wall not simply our saviour

Psychologically, teams/strikers will begin to see De Gea as a serious obstacle. I find it strange that the media spin him simply as our saviour. He is far more than that. If any top CB (lets say Vidic in his pomp) was defending at his best, it would be considered a massive asset for the team's defense, not a saviour. At his best, Vidic's presence would be seen as a wall for opposition attacks to overcome. Ofcourse we have to accept LVG doesn't make it easy for our defence playing 3 at the back, BUT in the vast majority of games (for any club) goalies are required to make saves week in week out. And the performances of De Gea aren't a one-off, it is week in week out.

It is time, teams about to play United realise that if they want to get anything out of a game they are going to HAVE to get past De Gea...and that ain't going to be easy. The way strikers approach the game, the probable self doubt De Gea's presence will instill, that's a big plus for us, a big psychological advantage. I wouldn't be surprised by his third attempt, that's exactly how Sterling felt...or Balotelli on his second.

I may be biased but I wouldn't swap De Gea for anyone else in world football. He is proving to be a world class stopper, like I always thought he would be.

He won't be being sold to Real Madrid, as he's agreed a new deal, and we don't need to cash in on any of our best players.

Also why would he want to join them? Real are scum in his eyes, seeing as he's an Atletico man:biggrin:

It would take at least 40million to convince United to sell and I doubt Barca will pay that for a keeper. I understand why you live in hope though as having to watch Calamity Hart every week must give you a twitchy sphincter!

He is worth a lot more than 40 million to us IMO. When you think about how many points he's won us so far this season, and will likely continue to win, 40 million is knowhere near his worth. He's worth a lot more

Well we paid 60 for Di Maria, and I'd be suprised if he is worth more points than De Gea come the end of the season. So far both have contributed a lot, but I think De Gea has been out best player so far:biggrin:

True. He is worth much more to us. It is about hitting that sweet spot. He has done it and he couldn't do it with any other team <ok>

I always thought that the rat was worth much more than £75m to the RS. So it proved. £150m worth of players made the team worse. And he is not worth £75m to Barca.

Hes a fair bit better that Courtois. Ive yet to see anything to suggest otherwise.

Not often tye best keepers can show their true ability but our defence has given him that chance.

Put your keeper in ourside and he gets found out.

Even neuer will be looking over his shoulder. De gea is that good. Put a top class and stable defence in front ofnhim and scoring past him becomes next to impossible right now.

One day someone will show an example of why hes meant to be better. Or not.

He catches the ball well. Better than de gea probably. Thats about all he has on de gea.
