Hi guys, Southampton fan here in peace. I live in Belfast and for that reason I only get to about 3-4 Southampton games a season and this season was the first in FIVE that I haven’t been to the Southampton v Swansea game. It isn’t by design that I attended this fixture four years in a row either, just when I had the money available to fund it and the date suited I would look at our home fixtures and every season without fail one of the games ended up being against Swansea. I’ve developed a real liking for Swansea and I’ve spoken to many of your fans over the years. There are always plenty of away supporters in the hotel where I stay and the Swansea fans have honestly been the most pleasant and enjoyable to sit and have a drink and talk football with that I have encountered. In order to fill the void of my annual catch up with the Swans’ fans I decided to post here and ask you about your thoughts on the summer transfer window past, the start of the season and the rest of the season to come.

I was gutted for you when Ashley Williams left, not just because he joined our former manager (who I refuse to mention by name) but he was the central figure in your team and his departure was the equivalent of Jose Fonte leaving us, a horror that I felt was going to materialise in the last window! These players are almost impossible to replace and are essential for teams like Southampton and Swansea who aren’t exactly studded with star players. As for André Ayew leaving, I thought it was a great piece of business on your part and Leroy Fer has had a good start for you. I love to see Jack Cork playing regularly and he was a player I would have happily kept hold of at Southampton. I thought he had a good game at the weekend in fact.

Good luck for the rest of the season lads and I look forward to our next game playing one another in January. The matches between us in recent times have usually been very entertaining with two closely matched sides playing football the right way :emoticon-0148-yes:

The transfer window in terms of shipping players out was decent and the money we received for Ayew and Ash was good business, although Ayew should have gone for at least another £5m imo.

However, the players signed have made no impact so far imo and are not good enough (excluding Baston and Llorente). Our best defender has gone, Leon is still our best midfielder and a year older and we have a clueless mangers who is afraid of his own shadow let alone brave enough to send a team out to win a game.

For me, there were 2 players that we needed to sign this summer, one being Joe Allen and the other being Bony as they know our club and would have brought us significant quality in midfield and up front, not to mention Bonys ability to defend at set pieces. Instead, we've gone for the cheap options in midfield and defence and if Baston doesn't come good, we are stuffed.

About time you talked some sense teacher!..............<laugh>

Our club is in serious crisis and not just this season either, We have been going backwards for a few seasons and we will soon be put out of our misery and relegated. Radcliff was spot on with his comments and there are many other pundits saying the same thing. Our football is the worst they have seen and the players are not happy with the way Guildo does training or his view how to play the game. The long time players know we are playing the game all wrong and they know they can play a lot better.....The club is in a mess and wont get anywhere near the points required to be safe as things stand....Most of the championship sides would beat us today and it wont be long before we see that for ourselves......
