Just before the takeover I was thinking Saudi money or not it's going to be extremely difficult to break into that top half of the league.

Outside or the so called 'big six' there was a lot of perceived new money coming into clubs like Villa & Everton + you had those sides like Leicester + West Ham, maybe Wolves who were already there challenging. At a minimum I though this is going to take quite some time and we'll probably have to go through a couple of managers...

As it stands it feels like we are positioned to take advantage a somewhat unexpected opportunity. Leicester, West ham and Wolves have run out of steam and look like they need to rebuild, new owners at Villa and Everton completely fkd up and are now trying to correct some poor management / decision making where as we, got a bit lucky that Emery turned us down and we ended up with King Eddie, made great recruitment decisions on and off the pitch, made fan engagement a priority and have pretty much smashed it out of the park! That combined with Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool all having issues could mean that if we can keep this going this is our chance to quickly establish ourselves at the top table.

We have said it before, but if we’d picked up the draw against Liverpool, had the goal allowed v Palace and turned up against Bournemouth we’d be level on points with City.

Makes it more interesting giving them a head start and then still winning it <diva>

Don't think we can include the Bournemouth result in this thinking as all teams have off days and that was within our control. Palace and Liverpool, yes, we were robbed so should have 3 more points

If we're being honest we weren't robbed v Liverpool either. We did ****house our way through the 2nd half and the ref correctly played the added time. Granted Isak's goal could have/ should have stood (was abroad at time so never seen ref watch) but we stunk that 2nd half out.

Have we had a game yet where we have actually been "lucky" with decisions?

The only one that is a maybe is Everton, apparently Joelinton could have been sent off first half for 2 yellows, i didn't see that game though.

There was **** all wrong with Isak's 2nd goal against the bin dippers, we should have had all 3 points from that. Aside from that 198th minute winner we would be unbeaten this season tho which is pretty remarkable thinking about it. Win at the weekend and we're 10 points from safety!
