It's just a shame that Michael Beale is no longer at the club. Would have been a chance for us all to see that "world class coaching" close up.
The £5 is clearly to keep miserable people away. You know, the kind of people who are always calling for protests but who's principles aren't worth a fiver. The club don't have to do it at all tbh but, for anyone with kids, it's a cheap day out and a chance to meet the players. The club will have probably have to provide stewards, car parking staff, first aid cover so £5 isn't outrageous ... ... but, of course, anything the club does is wrong in some eyes. 'Another day, another moan'
(That’ll teach me to put my reading glasses on, and read Ollie’s OP properly. Some more info about the event below, anyway) Under 14s go free alongside a paying adult according to an email from the club: The Lads will be training at the SoL next week, will you be there too? Supporters can purchase their ticket to join us on Wednesday 3rd April for a fantastic morning of open training at the Stadium of Light, with under-14s able to join free alongside a paying adult. Find out more here https://safc.com/news/ticket-news/2024/march/open-training-easter?utm_campaign=1097620_Open Trainingv2&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Sunderland A F C&dm_i=74JS,NIXG,1XBUJE,33FC8,1 Mike Dodds will be putting his side through their paces on Wednesday 3rd April in front of an anticipated 4,000 supporters. Alongside an exciting session, there will be other activities for you to enjoy before, during and after training, including a Q&A with players from the men's and women's teams. The day starts at 9.30am, with players taking to the field between 11am and 12pm. Players always enjoy staying behind after training to meet fans and SAFC will always try to facilitate this, but with so many families in attendance there are no guarantees of autographs or selfies. Prior to returning to the Academy of Light, the squad will be split into smaller groups and each group will visit one section of the crowd to ensure that as many fans as possible can meet the Lads. The Foundation of Light are joining us too, running a range of children's activities in and around the stadium including inflatable football challenges and face painting.
Sorry mate, no idea what you're talking about tbh ... ... the news about Tom Lynn has hit me hard and I've had a drink. Apologies to anyone I upset today.
Balls! I've been talking to all the estate staff today, gardeners, etc, and wishing them a Happy Easter holiday ... ... no wonder they were all looking at me and thinking 'senile old twat', they're all in tomorrow
We thought about coming up as it's my sons 15th birthday but logistics all went to pot. I've heard there were daft numbers there. Any clarification of crowd numbers?
