Saturday after the international break, we entertain QPR. £10 a ticket if you know a season ticket holder, get yourself along! Wonder what crowd we'll get.... A game we should be looking to win if we harbour aspirations of putting a run together, turning around this situation quickly. Could it be like buses, one win being followed up with another? I think a tricky game lies ahead. QPR have 10/18, and are much improved after the 7-1 hammering by WBA. They added two quality strikers in Hamed / Wells to compliment one of the best midfielders in this division on his day in my opinion - the busy tricky Luke Freeman. On paper, their squad I would suggest is better than ours. It's just how I see this right now. Our 11 seems to be coming together, Dozzell played 80 for England Under 20s. Not sure re a score though! Thoughts!?
Should get a slightly improved crowd due to the ticketing initiative and hopefully a post-break bounce. Unfortunately attendances have dwindled for years now, and many of the thousands who left during the end of Mick’s tenure have not returned. Results and performances definitely play a part in this, if we were top three I honestly believe we’d be getting mid 20k through the door. I’ll predict 19,720 for Saturday. Agreed that we need a win. Got to be adding wins over the next few weeks otherwise we’ll potentially be left adrift, particularly with Preston and Millwall both down there, despite having the same management and similar players who got them just outside play offs last year. I’d start Dozzell and Sears on Saturday. I’d ideally have Rowe down the left and Edwards down the right, but aware Ward has come in and done okay. I’m guessing the rest of the team, Hurst would have Skuse and Chalobah presumably as the holding duo, and then back four of Pennington, Chambers, Nsiala, and Knudsen? Gerken in goal. QPR have some good players, but we shouldn’t fear them. Have typically finished lower mid table last few years and Steve McClaren is a has-been (bold words I know). 2-1 Town.
I don't even know what to expect from this. I didn't expect England's first half masterclass in Seville after the Croatia performance but anything can happen in football. I think we can expect a good battle, an open game and goals at either end. So 0-0 ?
4 - 2 win to the Town. A rampant spell in the first half where we score 3 but very nearly **** the bed in the second half as QPR batter us and nearly equalize late on, before we go up the other end and make the result look more convincing. Goals from Sears, Nolan, Edwards and Jackson late on.
This is absolutely abysmal. Defensive shambles, no dominance from Gerks, same problems up front. It’s time to shake things up Mr Hurst.
Wasn’t able to go today and looks like I had a lucky escape. Appears to be all qpr, we’ve had 1 shot on target. I fear the boo boys (& girls) will be out in force tonight. Can PH survive?
Saw 65 online until the stream went wrong. We're bottom if Hull hold on. Cheerio Hurst. Nowhere near good enough and the players you've signed are also majorly lacking. P45.
I didn't do the ' Hurst out ' article for a laugh before. I thought about it long and hard. I didn't like what I saw v Blackburn but it's a first game. Perhaps if we'd gained an early win in the season, it could have flowed. Unfortunately, that's not happened and I came to that conclusion. It's just ridiculous.
Everybody was saying what an amazing performance it was against Swansea. It wasn’t, but it was a good win. Today must be the worst performance yet, but on the back of some improved ones. So just as I’m not getting excited over one victory, today’s game didn’t really tell us something we didn’t already know. The question for me is whether Hurst now has the capacity to try something else. Problem is - it might be too late now even to fix things on paper because the damage is probably already done mentally.
Abysmal, shambles, nothing up front, ****e, surely this can't be true? I can remember Westy and I pointing out these glaring deficiencies which are obvious to a fool a short while ago and getting pelters from predominately the same person, the inference was that all would be well given time for Hurst to find out what his best line up was. Well the Season is nearly a quarter over and our results are still appalling and we languish where we have been since the start. For Gods sake man go!
