Fifa's reputation has never been at a lower ebb, Prime Minister David Cameron has said. "I have seen football governance at an international level and I wasn't impressed by what I saw, "What I would say is this: Fifa's reputation is now at an all-time low and obviously the election with just one candidate was something of a farce but it has to become more transparent and more accountable." I'm not fan of Fifa, as some of you will already know, but how he has the nerve to criticise the election system of Fifa after the shambles of the coalition I just don't understand!
I see that rat Alexander aka 'Beaker' just got his mug in your pic. I can't stand him!!! Ginger upstart. My apologies to any gingers out there
Perhaps I'm missing the point here, but as far as I am aware the British people voted, there was a choice. If you wanted to compare Blatter's election to anything in politics, then surely it is gordon Brown. No choice for the Labour Party election and therefore became Prime Minister without being elected by anyone.
I voted, but my vote counted for little. Both shams, but Dave should go work on his own PR rather than slating Fifa about theirs.
It's a hung parliament, no party was voted as a majority so it isn't a proper choice anyway. Cameron is in power as a result of "oh **** we didn't get enough jobs, er, Nick Clegg, you're a spineless twat aren't you? Sweet, come join up with me." And technically, except for the people of Witney, nobody ACTUALLY voted directly for the PM anyway.
er yes, Lord Duckhunter, I hhtought that too.... we had a selection of people to vote for. Now when Cameron starts slagging off his policies, well, then we can have a crack at him
But the original post was "How does he have the nerve to critisise the election system", nothing about policies.
The only thing that was a sham about our election, was the fact Cameron got the most votes, yet still wasn't allowed to rule on his own.
Probably best not to moan about politics if you don't know enough about it, and you clearly don't. FIFA is massively corrupt and deserves all the criticism it gets and then some. You can't compare it to our government; it operates on a totally different scale of corruption. North Korea would probably be a more suitable comparison to FIFA.
I still don't understand why it was Blatter/FIFA's fault that no one stood against him in the election, all you needed was one National Association's support. Maybe it's just me.
