Never forget what Mr. P L
Did for this club in those three years,
We should all wish him well in his next spell
But no-one need shed any tears
In Mr. Hughton, we´ve found a new man
Who´ll no doubt do things his own way,
And he seems to fit well into our plan
As his credentials clearly say
Already the signs are that he´ll take his time
No rushing head first into things,
Thoughtfully working out how we can climb
Seems to be a trait that he brings
Each and everyone to his own and all that
As long as the results are there,
There´s far more than just one way to skin a cat
As we start soon on one more year
And if the next chapter of Canary lore
Is as successful as the last,
Well then I for one, won´t want for much more
Irrespective of who´s in the cast
Who comes and who goes seems on everyone´s mind
But just as important to me,
Is not whether A, B or C we can find
But hoping they won´t rot our tree
Which has grown and flourished, and withstood all storms
As each new branch has taken shape,
A unique work ethic which really does warm
I´d hope we would not let escape
So I´m looking forward as always, and keen
As July soon heralds the time,
For business to start down on the Colney green
