Supposedly in talks with West Brom. Surely last night Pardew will have noticed that Simpson is pish. Man City will need to sell or get rid of a good few players by Wednesday. Surely we should be in the hunt for big Nedum, he would make our defence so much stronger.

I think he is a lot better than Simpson. Strong and more of an athlete. Could you see Simpson scoring that goal he did for the Mackems against Chelsea??

This. Same as always happened when Barton was in front of him. Give him Jonas, and let him benefit like Enrique did.

    this ...^
think it would be a different story if simmo had someone like jonas in front of him
as for Onuoha i'm not so sure sydthemackem didn't rate him that highly from his loan spell there last year said he lacked pace and positioning

That is true. I still think he is very complacent. He was very good for us when he was trying to make a name for himself, now he thinks he is a guarenteed starter and his ego is growing at an enormous rate. I think some competition for him would give him the kick up the @rse he needs.

I still think we are light at the back. Even after Pieters we really need another defender, Situ should be signing and I just hope he is ready for the first team.

got to remember, simpson gets forward quite a bit, so he takes the risk of being exposed

I play at Right Back myself. You only go forward if you know you have the stamina and pace to make it back and defend,if you can't you should stay back as you are a defender first and foremost.

Situ is only 19 and hasn't had any first team experience yet.

Lets hope he hits the ground running. Still think we do need one more experienced defender after the Pieters deal in concluded.

Hopefully this. Maybe with Raylor able to compete for RB it will have the same effect Ben Arfa and Ferguson had on Gutierrez and make him play better.
