Defender linked again Sunderland, 14:32, July 26, 2011 Black Cats boss Steve Bruce could be set to try and renew his interest in Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha. Onuoha impressed whilst on loan from City at Sunderland last season and there was talk of a permanent deal but it never materialised and he returned to City. His days as a City player appear to be numbered with reports that he has not got a shirt number or a locker at the club so a move for the centre half could be on the cards. Bolton, Everton, Aston Villa and Blackburn have all been interested but a return to Sunderland may suit the player better, although he wants to remain at the Etihad Stadium saying: "I'd love to stay and fight and until someone tells me to jog on, I'll keep trying."
be delighted to sign him. quality player already and will only get better, astute at center-half and full back.
Would be about the right number for me, and if it really is one too many, then ferdinand can be moved on as Onuoha can cover the same positions Ferdinand can (CB and RB)
Like Welbeck, I'd have him back bought or on loan. He was absolutely superb last season, so professional.
we have had a few offers for Anton maybe hes on his way as Brucie prefers Onuoha, ****ing wish it was easier to spell, his name
would be a good signing but would be interesting to see what Brucie's backline would be with everyone available the way he goes on you would imagine Bramble and Turner are his first choice partnership at the heart of the defence then its out of O'Shea, Brown, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Richardson and Bardsley for the 2 full back spots. Some serious strength in depth even though I would imagine Ferdinand would be off if we brought in Onuoha and rightly so, he is in his last year of his contract and if Onuoha comes time to make some money on Anton.
