Example, Barca are getting the plaudits ( again) they deserve and the press have been KILLING Madrid.... yet this upcoming weekend is the Classico and the standings are... Barca- 25 Atletico-24 Real- 22 Hmm, a win by Madrid and they are right back in the mix/top of the league? Could it be Bale's time to shine? Will Gerrez sweet suculent Neymar do the business?
Liking this run of OnT Bluff. About time really ! Highlight of the weekend apart from our game obviously was Fiorentina smashing Juve after being two goals down at the break looking helpless. Giuseppe Rossi with the hat trick. Vaguely remember him being linked to us a long time ago, before his ACL's went but that could be my memory playing tricks. Serie A looks good this season, La Liga, while still monotonous, is more entertaining too. The Prem is throwing up surprises every week as usual. The only league I can't really get into is the Bundesliga, but I enjoy individual matches. Think Madrid will get a result. Barcelona haven't hit top form and the whole media/Bale situations will give Real that one moment of luck. At the same time, the only reason they didn't do so poorly recently was due to Mourinho and his defensive tactics. We will see if they've kept the focus.
Very funny incident during the game between Fiorentina and Juventus. Juve were leading 2-0 and Tevez and Pogba both taunted the Fiorentina fans by copying Batistuta's famous celebration. Fiorentina then scored 4 goals in 17 mins to win the match. #Karma
http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ll-thread!?highlight=European football thread Roma look very good this year, strange how Lamela has gone straight to Spurs's bench and Gervinho is tearing the league apart. Been keeping an eye on La Liga, Diego Costa looks a great player, such a shame he didn't want to join us, he would of been terrifying along side Sturridge and Suarez. Also, Neymar hasn't looked great, I can't believe they were touting him as one of the best players in the world, he looks ill..
Rudi Garcia has done a great job at Roma, along with Diego Simeone - who are both a part of this new crop of young, exciting managers.
No Matth. CL is on this week with some tasty games as well. Roma is starting to run away with the league and the Juve slip up does not help their cause. Napoli still look dangerous but with only 3 CL places someone is going to miss out: Napoli, Fiorentina, Juve, AC, Inter, possibly dark horse Lazio ( although hellos verona are right up there!). Getafe are the feel good story in spain and are in 5th place. Am sure Laudrup has his eye on some of those players.
Off topic but a question for Bluff - I've been watching NFL recently (Mainly for betting purposes) but I lost £10 on Chicago Bears yesterday! Why and how did they lose?? I had to put a treble (parlay) on 49'er, Packers and Chiefs to recoup my money!
Their Quarterback who has been in pretty good form got injured and that threw a lot of their play off. Couple that with the NFL being pretty even field for the most part, hard to bet on at the moment. Good bets with the other 3 though. I guess this could count as Football around the world?
Lol true. Argghhh damn Bears! I've been putting money on Kansas over the past 3 weeks! They're now my adopted NFL team! #Defence!!
the thing is la liga is easy for madrid. they have not appointed a donkey like moyes. they appointed anchelotti and the slating they are getting is for selling ozil, nothing more.
No MLS!?! Pretty crazy run in regarding play off spots. Tim Cahill scored the fastest goal in MLS history, took 8 seconds, yesterday! I'm wondering how much playing time Michael Bradley will get when he returns from injury. He's essential to the USA making a run past the last 16 in the Brazil.
They've been playing poorly. Winning, but playing poorly. They've been lucky to score 2 or 3 late goals to win games. Plus they lost at home to Atletico Madrid which hasn't helped.
Valencia x Almeria ( Suso) Real x Sevilla ( should be good) AC Milan x Lazio ( both teams underachieving but a tasty affair) Fiorentina x Napoli ( Game of the day for me) Copa Sudamericana- Sap Paulo x Nacional ( Big game in the South American leagues)
Did you watch Barca last night Bluff? Fabregas looking very sharp.. Villa scored a couple in a 5-0 win for Atletico the other day too.. both teams smashing La Liga at the moment.
