Only the 3rd time this century

    For any stattos out there, this Championship season was only the third this century where none of the three sides relegated from the Premier League made it into the top 6 (Burnley 8th, Hull 11th, Pompey 16th)

    The others were 2004/05 [Wolves 9th, Leeds 14th, Leicester 15th] and 2000/01 [Wimbledon 8th, Watford 9th and Sheffield Wednesday 17th]

    I wouldn't mind betting, even at this stage, that this could well be repeated next season.

    All the teams struggling at the foot of the Premier League have been down there, or thereabouts most of the season. There isn't much to choose between them.
