Big fan of what Hughes is doing so far but I find us only being linked with defenders! Fair enough Alex, Tawio and Onounha are all quality and will fit the bill perfectly but I really cant understand why we havnt brought in a striker yet. It is clearly what we need and yet we havnt really been linked with anyone yet!
we need to stregthen at the back first and foremost. Plus Alex and Samba are likely to end up with a goal or two each.
Starting from the back is definitely the right idea. If we get all three defenders in by the beggining of next week we will have one of the best defences in the league. Then we have a week to sort out the midfield and attack and im positive enquiries are on going. I still think it may be too late though. Cant see us beating Wigan with current squad.
Given that Taiwo, the only one that seems to have actually happened, went completely under the radar, I'm inclined to believe that all these journalists and ITKs in reality have as much of an idea as the rest of us.
Maybe Taiwo could be available as Talksport have just reported that Modeste who signed for Blackburn would be available if they can sort his work permit out. Which means the deal was done before the midday deadline.
