Knowing how angry people get about technology I bet they were getting some harsh phone calls. At work In order to make life easier for the local IT team, we put a lot of general IT stuff remotely through our IT Department in the States certain colleagues stupidity and frustration usually turns to blind rage with the poor person trying to help them at the other end, I can imagine working at an Apple store is no different.
Even worse Apple stuff kind of attracts the sort of people who probably shouldn't own a (delete as appropriate) mobile phone/computer/tablet
