An excellent performance from the lads tonight. Totally committed and a CLEAN SHEET!!!! when was the last time we got one of those....and against Watford of all teams.! Momentum is important and we certainly have that right now! A few scary defensive laps from Schlupp, but he offers more going forward. Thought James and King were immense in the middle of the park, Knocky was everywhere and Morgan and Keane were 2 rocks at the back. Enjoy the result tonight.....then back to business and focus for a very hard 2nd leg on Sunday. Bring it on!!!!
All round top performance. Andy King and Matty James bossed the midfield Great for Nuge to get a goal at last.
Was like watching the King of old and James is going to be some player I think. Morgan and Keane solid at the back and at last a CLEAN SHEET !!
We need a Schmichel wonder performance next game and we'll get thru, i'll take 0-0 with Schmichel making 2 wonder saves in the last 4 minutes although Watford really need to work on their finishing, as do we.
First 30 mins will be important. They will come at us hard at the beginning of the match as we did them tonight, if we can stand firm and keep the massive 15,000 fans or whatever small number they have quiet, then we can gain confidence
I thought De Laet looked a little suspect last night as well. At one point i thought he had gone colour blind as every other pass went to a watford player!
Both De Laet and Jeff had some dodgy moments BUT - up to the misskick that let Anya through Jeff had been immense - that one cross across the 6 yard box was just begging for someone to slide in and his pure pace and commitment got Anya booked for a rash challenge but also gave Anya something to consider with both Lloyd and Jeff bombing down the left .. De Laet made some good clearances - but what both him and Jeff have is pace - which enables them to get out of a hole at times - but the defensive 'frailties' are compensated by the way they can both get forward to support the attack ... Good summaries in the posts above - but the problem area is attack - Geoff Peters on Talksport this morning gave a match summary and mentioned that David Nugent had scored his first goal in 17 games in what had been up until then an 'ineffective performance' - I have to agree. Worse for me was Chris Wood who looks like he's isrunning therough knee deep mud at the moment and can't seem to trap and control the ball (particularly on his chest) - Proud isn't going to like this but Harry Kane markedly improved the retention of the ball played in to the centre forward when he came on. My man of the match? - Lloyd Dyer - never stopped running, either attacking or getting back to help Jeff - caused problems for them all night long and Nugent should have at least hit the target with that wonderful pulled back cross in te first half - but he got the ball into the danger area countless times. Hopefully this will boost his confidence because those Watford defenders are above average for this division. Lloyd was fairly anonymous against them in the previous game - amazing transformation which I think was helped a lot by having Jeff there with him.
LLoyd dyer was immense. You know when leicester scored iwas so drunk i had no idea who scored, some guy says next to me that balls going in. I assumed it was watford because he sounded so depressed lol. And then when it did go in i thought Oh noooooo, Then the leicester fans in the pub started cheering and i assumed it was offside maybe? And then i saw nugent celebrating i was shocked ! Anyway im so happy for everyone. What a fantastic performance, I had no idea we are capable of that kind of football anymore. Nigel did very well to get these players motivated. Well done !
It was probably FosseFilberto - winner of the 606 Mr Grumpy award depressed he can't moan after that performance
Before the game last night Radio 5 were saying that Wood had been ill for a couple of days and was a doubt up until yesterday.
As you all know, I am the prediction expert, and I now think you will go through comfortably and beat Watford 3-0 at Vicarage Road
Not being funny but a chance to play in the Premier League (I know they all may not) really should be motivation enough..... Roll on Sunday!
I was out and had my phone off all evening so no one would contact me, couldn't believe the result when I got in. We might really have a chance here!
