After months of of worry, slight depression and having to hide my anger inside when listening to insults from Palace, Hull and a lot of Liverpool fans at work I had just got to the stage of acceptance.
I had accepted we were going down, the jibes no longer mattered it didn't bother me anymore Infact I was quite excited thinking about how we were going to approach next season who we were going to keep who we were going to ship out, which youngsters would be good enough for the championship and what do we go and do? we go and WIN a game and now that small bit of hope is back the nervous tension the worry.

We must still be favourites to go down but there is that bit of hope now, 4 wins 2 draws and 2 defeats from here will give us 38 points and a chance and with 3 very winnable home games against Hull Palace and Norwich it could be possible.

There are a few key games coming up for us regarding other teams (yes we do have to rely on other results) with Sunderlands fixtures and games in hand they are likely to stay up so we really need them not to lose at Norwich next weekend the three teams I think we are targeting are

    1. Norwich... Final four games Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal and Utd plus we are assuming we beat them so there next 3 games against Sunderland West Brom and Swansea are Key games for us

    2. Palace..... Four remaining home games are Liverpool City Chelsea and Villa the two key games for us are the home game against Villa and the away game against Cardiff

    3. Cardiff..... I worry about Cardiif they appear up for the fight more than the other two and like us they have 3 home games they will feel are winnable

It may come down to who gets that unexpected 3 points I'm going for us at White Hart Lane... Damn the dreams and hope have returned.... Another few weeks of worry depression and anger

Acceptance is a wonderfully enlightening thing Cookie. Don't go with a few weeks of anger, worry and depression. Change it to laughs, hope and brighter future.
The youth policy will come good soon. Championship football will be the maker of a player like Woodrow, who I thought played with a maturity that defied his age on Saturday. If we stay up we have youngsters that are playing for the club and not the pay packet like some of the older pro's in the squad have been of late. Fortunately we have a manager that is not afraid to tell these pros how it really is and actually you're not as fit as you should be. if they had been we wouldn't have conceded so many late goals this term.

Don't be so sure that Sunderland's games in hand are a good thing, Cookie. When you're up at the top, games in hand usually translate into points, down at the bottom the reverse is often the case. I think Sunderland's backlog of fixtures is more likely to make those games in hand a millstone rather than a bonus. Perhaps a draw would be the best result between Sunderland and Norwich, preventing either from making significant strides away from us.

Don't worry about us mate <laugh> I've supported Cardiff for long enough to know that keeping faith involves serious praying <ok>

All the best guys, I hope neither of us are playing Championship football next season <ok>

Sunderland still have to play Norwich and Cardiff Captain and looking at the situation I just think Cardiff and Norwich are slightly more likely for us to catch so I would take a Sunderland win in both those games lifting them out of the relegation fight

Maybe, but there's also the argument that with our two hardest games coming next, it would be help the players (and our) morale not to be too far adrift of the next team if we do end up with two defeats. I agree that we don't want Norwich winning and opening up a gap that might be unbridgeable, but we also want to stay in touch with the teams that haven't got points on the board yet. I think I'd take draws whenever two of our relegation rivals are playing for now. If a few weeks time, when some have eased their way out of trouble, that will change, but for now we don't want anyone getting the momentum of 3pts.
