We shut them out after 65 consecutive scoring home games. 10 unbeaten at home in Europe. The mancs could not beat them in two attempts. Only Benfica! 42 titles and SEvEN European Cup finals... same as Liverpool and Barca. More than United, Inter etc.... Bigger club than Spurs or Arsenal. 65k Up their with the greats of Europe. What a performance, especially when we saw our line up. Only Benfica!!!
Great performance! My only nit pick is that we could have scored more goals. They were awful defensively. I want to mention David Luiz. I have been his biggest crititc but the last few games have shown him to be a great signing. Now that he is playing as a defender and not some loose cannon, he looks a good player. Maybe RDM had a word with him and told him exactly what was expected of him. Pity AVB didn't do the same.
This...a bit of self discipline and remembering his role is CB and he has shown us his true ability...I am most impressed, and hope that RDM's man management continues to get the best out of him. He reminds me of Joe Cole in his temperament...Jose had cole moulded into the perfect wide midfielder, left or right, who filled the gap we missed for club and country...as soon as he went Cole spiralled into his old ways with no guidance, and just look at him now...
