I think much of our troubles started with Mark Hughes' ideology regarding team quality. He tried to start it at Man Citeh and with the funding of TF looked like trying to do the same at QPR.

Namely that the team is only as strong as its weakest link/player so what do you do? Buy lots and lots of expensive better links of course.

The problem with this theory is that when a link is only concerned about his own position, performance and value, cares nothing about what the chain is meant to be doing, the success is diminished and not improved.

It looks like managers go window shopping and only want to choose the pretty baubles instead of going for a slightly cheaper option that will do the job a whole lot better. When you look at some of the bigger teams and how they have been run you will have the super stars but also a backbone of hard working players who do the graft every week. Remember Derry running around after Adel mopping up any mistakes? Derry's hard work was just as important as Adel's goals in us winning the Championship.

What we have at QPR now is a drawer full of expensive rings, cuff links and watches which individually are worth a bundle but none of them match the shirt and tie.

Agree to a certain degree....but QPR are hugely lacking when it comes to any form of scouting, because of this we have been relying on agents and videos to select players.

We bought players way past their sell by date, Johnson, Zamora, Park etc....these aren't shiny baubles, these are old chaps that have been rinsed of there usefulness and sold onto us for a profit.

Teams like Swansea have a great scouting network pick up players like Michu and look at them and their success.

Harry has bought in some well known quality such as Remy, Samba etc, but our inability to create goal scoring chances and any form of attacking play will be the reason we are relegated this season.
