To the start of the new season and with Kelly's injury and Davies leaving for Blackpool we are a little light in the first team squad once again.

We need a replacement for Kelly and Pack certainly appeared to be that against Bournemouth just have to hope Mr Burt also sees it that way S O'D seemed impressed, but who are we getting to replace Davies, Harewood isn't a replacement for him as S O'D has said he wants someone with pace and anyway Harewood was already training with City before the bid from Blackpool came in.
There are lots of rumours that we are trying to sign Billy Sharp now while that would tick all the boxes with manager and fans due to SCMP it is unlikely so just who is it we are looking at I wonder we have several trialists for the development squad and also that young lad from Ipswich but he is a winger could it be we are going to sign him and use Adomah as the second striker?

This is not as daft as it might seem at first glance Adomah's main fault is his crossing ability or lack of, he has pace to burn and an eye for goal there would not be many defenders or central midfielders who could keep up with a flying Albert plus if you try and double or triple team Albert in the middle of the pitch it would be as likely that the ball would break to another City player and leave them a clear run on goal rather than atm the ball ends up out for a throwin.

Now Marlon Harewood seems to be good at making space for himself in opposition boxes so to have a choice of two quick strikers to pair up with him could be a good strategy or could you imagine the consternation in opposing defences at the thought of trying to keep up with Sam and Albert I rather think there could be an awful lot of penalties and direct free kicks given away and quite a few red cards as well.

Now obviously this is just my idea but it also has another advantage if Albert started scoring goals playing through the middle more people would be interested in him and it could also give Albert a second string to his bow re his international prospects strikers get a lot more publicity than wingers usually and it would keep him in the eye of his international paymasters, which could result in one of two things happening either more bids would come in or if Albert got interested in this new role he might decide to sign a new contract as long as there was a no promotion get out clause.

I don't know what others think about this but please discuss.

I'd love to see Albert pushed into the centre, or even used as a forward. It's actually quite a common thing to see, with a number of wingers (Gabriel Agbonlahor, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale) making a transition to a free role and occasionally as a supporting forward.

If we sign Carson, I reckon Adomah would be an ideal candidate to replace Davies, or someone to help support JET behind a lone forward. SOD seems to be a fan of the 4-2-3-1, so Adomah would fit in perfectly if he'd be willing.
