Only 9 more points needed and we're trying to buy strikers?

Outside the Tyne and Wear derbys, the two games a year where Shola looks like he gives a ****, Shola has scored two goals in the premier league this season. He is hardly a huge player for us.

I think we should just give this chance to Best and Ranger to show they might be part of the future of the club, and also give Lovenkrands a few games before we eventually get shot of him. We also have goal scorers in midfield, including Nolan who has scored only 1 less than Carroll did. We can get goals from anywhere in the team.

We have enough to stay up, in my opinion. We have a squad of mid table or higher quality, but we don't have the strikers to finish there. But we do have the strikers to survive. Best has shown he's capable of scoring, and was unlucky not to score against Sprus and Sunderland. If Best gets his chance he could be a much better striker than Shola.

**** Ewerthon, and seriously.... **** Alialdiere. Alialdiere looks no better than Lovenkrands. 11 goals in 80 games for ****ing boro says it all. Pardz0r, stop worrying about strikers and have ****ing faith!!

Pardews act of desperation is hardly a show of faith in our strikers. I bet Best feels like a useless pile of ****.

p.s. I know 9 more points isn't a certain to stay up, but i think that if we get to 40 points pretty quickly, we'll be safe, and there'll also be about 12/13 other teams scared of relagation aswell. We're not exactly just above the relegation zone.

 

So what happens if ranger and best get injured? 4-5-1 with loven, i dont think so and whoever comes in will most likely be bench warmer.

What happens if Joey Barton gets injured, we're ****ed. We can't just say "what if". We just have to focus on what we've got. Also, if we had to play 4-5-1, i'd put Ranger on, not Lovenkrands.

 

It's ok mate, i don't really even notice the star ratings that much. I care more about the discussions and points raised on the board. Pixilized stars mean nothing to me, but thanks anyway mate.

 

You know you're team is in trouble when Leon Best is the best striker..

Only joking, I rate him & wish him to do well, I think he's currently better than the inconsistent injury prone poor mans' Carroll(Shola Ameobi) & better than Range(in some departments)... especially in finishing and work-rate.

Best is our best striker in my opinion, Lover isn't good enough anymore at this level, it's as simple as that.

 

I doubt Best is stupid enough to think anyone we bring in is going to replace him. There were stories about him being injured, so I think he will understand Pard's concern for wanting more than 3 fit strikers...

 

We arent 'buying' anyone. I think whoever is brought in, if anyone, will only be backup anyways. Really annoying that we didnt strengthen in Jan long before Carroll was sold.

 

Wages will have to be payed though.

 

With Wigan in 18th and only 5 points behind us in 10th, 12 matches to play, I doubt that 9 points would be enough, it would be foolish of the club to think like that and not take some steps to add to the squad if they can, as pointed out a couple of injuries and we could be in real trouble.

 

We really do need another striker! With Shola out now and Best and Ranger doubtful for Saturday , I'm starting to get quite worried about the Blackburn away! Mclovin in 4-5-1? I think.. NO.

We need a striker just in case we get more injuries.

Pardews most recent comments basically suggested that the free agents brought in would be impact players starting from the bench, this is not meant to be Carrolls replacement.

I think if anything Kuqi fits the purpose, he's a big physical player so probably fits are style of play and has plenty of experience in English football. I belive the younger players also need to be give their chances but you have to ease them in, not through them in. Their was a scare this week (probably cause it was an international week) but best and Ranger were withdrawn from their respective squads. If those injuries were genuine that left us Lovenkrands!!!!

 

Guthrie, Raylor, Gosling, even Jonas on the right. We've got adequate cover for the midfield but not the forwards.

 

That's a stupid thing to say. You can't just focus on what you've got. We NEED backups. We have other bodies to fill the midfield if someone like Barton was injured. However, if Best or Ranger was injured, we would be down to our very last poor striker partnership

This is just backup. Ranger and Best (and possibly Loven) will still be the first choices. This short-term deal is just an extra man to be cautious.

 

We need numbers. Having Best, Ranger and Lovenkrands as our only available strikers, with barely any premier league goals between them, is not ideal. We need other options.

 

We have 3 fit strikers, 2 of which are touch and go for the next game (Best and Ranger) and the other of which is questionable in a 4-4-2, let alone as a lone striker. We have potentially one fully fit striker and you cant understand bringing in another? He'll be a bench warmer who is used in emergency only.

Pard's has said anyone brought in will be as cover, a player to come off the bench. Its all good saying we have Ranger, Best and Lovin at the moment and then Airey, Vuckic and Richardson warming the bench. And i am a advocate of bringing the young players on. But if we are playing Wolves, 1-1, and need an impact player, i would rather bring on someone with experience, someone physical. Imagine someone like Airey playing against a team like Wolves, no matter how promising he is he will be immensely intimidated against them dicks.

 

Kuqi will simply be extra cover...
