We play a lot of the ****test teams. I think we'll drop points in a couple of games, but I think it should be enough. If we're not careful, though, Liverpool could catch us. Spurs have a tough set of fixtures. Newcastle 3-2 Spurs Everton 1-2 Newcastle Newcastle 3-0 Southampton Newcastle 1-3 Arsenal Leeds 1-3 Newcastle Newcastle 3-0 Leicester Chelsea 1-2 Newcastle Newcastle 2-2 Brighton Spurs games - Newcastle 3-2 spuds Spuds 1-2 Manure Bin dippers 2-2 Spuds Spuds 2-1 Palace Villa 2-1 Spuds Spuds 2-1 Brentford Leeds 1-2 Spuds Liverpool games - Liverpool 3-1 Nottingham West Ham 2-2 Liverpool Liverpool 2-2 Spuds Liverpool 2-1 Brentford Leicester 1-2 Liverpool Liverpool 1-1 Villa Southampton 1-2 Liverpool
Rose (or black n white) tinted glasses I think Tash I think 6 wins and a draw trom those 8 remaining games is very optomistic, especially vs Spurs only winning 3 of their games. And I can't see us ending up 11 points ahead of Villa (as you have it). Of course, I would love to see your predictions happen, but I think you're expecting quite a lot mate.
It's only because our opposition is so **** tbh. We can beat Spurs, and Everton, leeds, Southampton, Leicester, Chelsea are all there for the taking. What would you predict?
Did one yesterday and I think it came out at 69 points for us, 67 for Liverpool and 65 for Spurs so it will be tight imo. I do think though if we can beat spurs it is ours to lose though. My prediction was with a draw vs spurs so even if we lose it would still see us come out on top but as per the prediction league, my best guess is pretty ****e! The run in is a bit more difficult than we expect as Spurs, Arsenal and Brighton could all beat us and Chelsea despite how poor they are atm could be a different animal in 6 weeks time. Big thing for me is beat the teams we "should" be beating in Soton (20th), Everton (17th), Leeds (16th) and Leicester (19th) but all four of them are in a huge relegation battle and will be needing points badly so need to be fully focused.
There is no way Liverpool are drawing at home to both spurs and villa. They will win 7 of their last 8 in my opinion and finish on 69 points. It's whether we can get to the magical 70 point mark for me to determine top 4. I think Spurs, Villa and Brighton will each get to 64/65 points.
I think Liverpool could be a threat, but remember Liverpool a remarkably inconsistent which Is why I marked them down a bit, they are inconsistent.
Villa will get 6th and Spurs will crash out, otherwise I'd expect similar...with the sad inevitability that City ****s will grab the title.
Thought I'd make a nice little table with remaining fixtures for the realistic contenders for 3rd /4th
The only thing that makes me doubt it is inconsistency. Liverpool beat us, man city and man utd, and drew against Arsenal, yet they lose to bournemouth, leeds etc.
Despite Liverpools better fixtures, I don't know if they'll recover from a 9pt deficit. I think our games vs Spurs and Brighton are crucial. If we can avoid defeat in these games that would be helpful enough to take points from them,
