As the new season is nearly upon us,who do you think, could possibly
step up to make first team appearances from our youth/reserve side.
    My choices.
Briggs ~ still a little raw,but has potential.
Frei ~ shown great potential already, could see him often this season.
Hoeson ~ loan spell will, make or break him.
    Della Valle ~ " " " " " "
Jesse Joronen ~ big tall finnish goalkeeper very acrobatic lacks positional sense
Marquez- sanchez ~ my tip for the top great right back, not afraid to tackle good
    distributer of the ball.

Good question, Roscafre. I wish I could see the youth/reserve games like some of you; that's where you'd get the clues. I don't know about you, but when I watch players, I can usually tell within 20 seconds if the player has that special quality. Sometimes you can tell just from watching their first touch.

I'd like to see Briggs given a few chances too. Although we definitely have better wingers and Riise is a better fullback - they're all getting on a bit (well, 30ish plus)

From the Europa games Briggs looks like a good'un, as does Frei.

D R Agree with your comments,re reviewing a player over the first few minutes,
Thats why I rated M ~ Sanchez. On the down side,a little on the small side,
but George Cohen was not all that tall

George made up in circumference for what he lacked in height :) - it always surprised ne he waqs as nippy as he was. Great player and nice man.

And Paul Parker was hardly a giant among men, until he walked onto the pitch.
