Van Nistelrooy is another one we missed out on, I think. Thought the fee was too much.

Ibrahimovic who wasnt mentioned here has to be the worst one for us.
It could be worse though, Blackburn lost out big time twice.
Roy Keane mentions in his book he'd agreed to sign for Blackburn and was sat in Dalglish's office who was manager at the time to sign the contract. It hadnt been written up, so Dalglish asked if he'd mind signing it the following day instead before training for the first time.
Later on that evening Fergie rang him and said "have you signed for Blackburn yet". The rest is history....
Theyd also agreed a 5m fee for Lewandowski from Lech Poznañ in 2010 and he had booked a flight to come over and sign. Whilst at the airport his flight was cancelled because of the Ash cloud, (not sure how many on here will remember that), and the following day Dortmund contacted him and convinced him to sign for them instead.
