    Happy Birthday Kit

    Wednesday 29 October 2014 18:55

"Chairman Shahid Khan today announced the promotion of Kit Symons as First Team Manager of Fulham Football Club, effective immediately and with an agreement in place to the conclusion of the 2015-16 season.

Symons, 43, has served Fulham as its Caretaker Manager since September 18th, leading the Whites to an overall record of five wins, one draw and three losses during that time. Symons previously managed the Under-21 Team at Fulham, where he spent three seasons as a player from 1998 to 2001.

Mr Khan was assisted over the past six weeks by a search committee he assembled to provide guidance and leadership in identifying and reviewing candidates to serve as the next First Team Manager of Fulham. The members of the search committee - David Daly, Huw Jennings, Brian McBride, Danny Murphy and Niall Quinn - all offered distinct and impressive football credentials combined with an understanding and respect for the traditions at Fulham.

    Mr Khan said today:

"First, I must offer my sincere appreciation to the search committee for its commitment to the process. We asked a lot of all five committee members, perhaps more than they anticipated, and yet they gave us more than we could have ever imagined. Each of them brought something unique and valuable to the search, but the one thing they all had in common was a strong desire to return Fulham to its proper place as one of the most admired and respected clubs in English football. I cannot thank them enough.

"Kit has thoroughly earned the opportunity to take Fulham from here as our First Team Manager. We've been a different football club, on and off the pitch, since Kit stepped in as our Caretaker Manager in September. His passion for Fulham is evident and contagious, and I believe the promise ahead of him is extremely bright. Above all, Kit understands and is committed to our goals, and he knows there is much work ahead. Starting today, we can begin work with Kit firmly in charge at Fulham."
