One year ago this weekend We were heading to Barnsley to play, Having just drawn with Donny at home In a uninspiring one v one fray, Which left us sitting in fifth place With thirteen games still left to go, One place and one point just behind Those from Forest, who´ve since hit a low, And Blackpool interestingly enough Were lying twelfth in the PL, After just beating Tottenham 3-1 Before they hit their own bad spell, They would win only just one more game Between then and the season´s end, Dropping like a proverbial stone They just couldn´t repair the trend, Now what, might you ask, does this show Only that a year is a long time, And while some speed upwards in haste Others drop quickly, losing their shine, No comparison intended at all Between those seasiders and us, I assure you, but maybe we should Wait awhile until the final dust, Has settled on this year´s campaign Before just assuming the best, And we know our status is safe Then and only then, can we rest, And far be it for me to say What goes on in Lambert P´s mind, But I´d be surprised had he not thought Of all the scenarios he could find, Between now and this May thirteen When all will be much more revealed, And fingers crossed, we´ll celebrate Our Premier League place being sealed. Was it really a year ago? I remember the complaints and unhappiness over that result. Yet another wonderful contribution RBF.
Hopefully it doesn´t do any harm to have a reminder, both of the positives and the possible negatives.
Hi RBF - Never mind a year, I'm hoping a week will be enough time to heal the wounds As you say, it's an amazing turn of events, almost as if there is a pulley, as one descends another rises just as quickly!
Yes, it does indeed seem a short year. I well rembember Hoolhan's pathetic penalty that could have won us that game - turned out not to matter. I was out for a beer tonight and we got talking about the Portsmouth game that clinched our promotion - what a night that was to be in Norwich!!!! Let's cheer our team on, so that we stay in the Premier League next season and hopefully for many seasons to come.
