[B[/B]So you wake up and realise you are in charge with 48 million to spend next year on your beloved Swans. [/SIZE] What do you do and how much of it do you spend and on what????..... could be just on players, or anything from training facilities/stadium extensions to youth academies to the previously requested big screen (or even do a dirty and keep some cash and try and sell the club to some billionaire oligarch!!) THE FLOOR IS YOURS GENTS
for me its 15 mill on new players/contracts 5 mill on youth 10 mill on training and wait to see what happens throughout the season (i would allow myself a nice car and boat though....sorry , but I am in charge of the 48 mill !!)
I would transform the executive boxes for private lap dancing rooms. There would be several poles that would decend from the roof at half time with some very lovely ladies ready to entertain us with. Each bar would then be transformed into a hooters bar, with 6 ladies working in each one. Oooohhh, and very large brothel. And two HD screens that show non stop porn to the masses. And a large pit that we can drop arsehole away fans into if we take a dislike to them - Them being Manc, scousers, so on so on. On a serious note - £15million on new players, £5 million on securing current players to new contracts. £10 million towards the youth setup. £5 million on a stadium expansion. £5 million on HD screens and staff upgrades. The remaining money would then go towards my luxurious lifesstyle.
I´d build an academy... **** knows how much that would cost. I´d like to see a lot of money pumped into the football network across Swansea/Neath/Carmarthenshire, as there are so many potential players there we´re missing. Get the Swans a good name and help out a load of clubs and I´m sure we´d see a benefit long term. I´d like to see an experienced Premiership striker brought in, one who didn´t break the bank, and I´d still like to see a beast of a centre back. Maybe a utility defender too and that would be about it unless an all action midfielder pops up on a bargain. Other than that... err... employ some more scouts? Better bars?
I think the Hooters ideas are the best ones. I hope Brendan Rodgers reads this and will investin these things.
Would spend £15 million on new players and contracts. £10 million investing in academy/youth system/training facilities. £5 million aside for stadium expansion should we stay up/upgrading the current stadium. £3-4 million securing contracts and staff upgrades and keep the rest in reserves to invest at a later date. Failing the sensible approach. Drogba - valued i hear at £7-9 million another £3 million in wages (one year contract) and £5 million securing loans to strengthen the rest of the team and cross fingers and hope we stay up...which im sure we would so we would have £30 million in reserves plus the money from the following season to go on a massive splurge
1.nail the academy, get this built pronto 2.Get the plans in place stadium expansion 3.Invest a million in improving the cosmetics - advertising ,giant screen for replay etc, bare concrete cleaned or cleverly covered with sponsors adidas, Tomos Watkin,32 red, amazon, osprey kit supplier Kooga?...lets hope the global sky audience sees the Liberty at its best.We know it sounds special now lets get is sparkling on every match day 4.Ticketing - extra office space and more professional outfit
Do you think the club should consider buying the Stadium? Would that help us or would we be no better off or worse off? Just throwing it out there...
id bail out cardiff and knock down that excuse of a stadium they call home and build a car park on it and charge them £10 per ten minutes parking to use it.
Sorry to disagree Jackdan, but as much as Drogba is a quality player and seemingly a bargain for a world class striker, I reckon it would cause a major unbalance in the squad. His wages would mean the others want more, his attitude for the fight sometime stinks and if the rest of the squad are seeing that, it's natural they would also want big bucks if they are giving their all. This would lead to them either leaving, or the powers that be caving in to their demands for parity (leaving less for new signings in the future). It would be a massive gamble ....... £48 million sounds a lot but the lower leagues are littered with teams that have been caught out by these methods after achieving the so called holy grail. Like the idea of instead of having one pole, six descending from the roof though. We could even let Cyril use one for the families !! PS Just realised how good it sounds that we can finally call Div2, Div 1 and championship the lower leagues like the other big boys have for years !!! It was always sounded a very patronising a phrase up until May 30th 2011 !!!
