Serious or not serious. But my thinking for making this thread was serious. After reading about the attack in sweden and umpteen in america. Do you fear for your kids/grandkids etc. Going to school?
No fear in them going to school, especially where I live, but that's because up to probably high school either me or the mrs will be dropping them off and picking them up. I have general concerns for my kids' futures though health, money, job, terrorism but I guess that's a parent thing!?
I always have a certain amount of fear when my teenage daughter is out after school, but I would imagine that is the same for most blokes. I have never had any fear of gun or terrorist attacks at the school though.
The short answer is not yet. I suspect it would only take one incident in this country to tip the scales though. Inevitable I think as more and more are involved in politics.
Could be a factor as they reach voting age. Take a long time for that to have an effect though. Chuka Ummuna wasn`t far away this time.
Good question comm. At the moment I feel it's ok but it's not looking good for the future Only wish we had an answer
My experience has led me to worry more about my bairns being bullied at school rather than falling victim to any 'attack' that may come along. Once you get over one worry... Another comes along !?!? My latest worry is them getting into cars with idiots who've just passed their tests... Nightmare!!!
Probably the biggest fear for kids at schools these days is bullying and the **** they put on their social websites. Its a different world to when I was in school. Other than that, I think we over-think the dangers to our kids as parents these days, while our kids just get on with it. When something happens at a school or outside a school these days, its usually on the news. Theres a reason for that - its so rare, it make the news!
Though I have four children I try not to fear the 'unlikely and unknown' - ultimately it just takes away our 'freedom and liberties'
Of course there will be a coloured/Muslim/ ethnic PM. They are still knocking screaming **** machines out at an alarming rate so in 18-20 years time more and more will get votes. Not racist by the way just stating the inevitable. Not worried at all about my son. He can sort himself out but if he did favour a move abroad I would probably encourage him mainly due to not trusting any political party in this country. This country is going tits up. It's still mine tho and I am extremely patriotic. PS. Apologies if I went off on a tangent there. PPS. I'm not really sorry.
Things change. **** happens. Life's too short. If it didn't, we'd all still be speaking Pict or Saxon, and the rest of the world wouldn't have learned English. I'm sure I was trying to make a point there, but what the ****.
It's our responsibility to make sure our kids don't look at the ethnic minorities as unequal. To a lot of people they are intruders in this country. Future generations have no chance if they are brought into this world to reject people who are 'foreign' to what they know. Separation will only encourage ethnic minorities to rebel and then we are not evolving as a nation. Extremists will die out, moderates will prevail and integrate, it's our only hope!
Microwave. Kettle. Toilet. TV. That's just me though, I just go home and shout at inanimate objects for no reason... "****ING HURRY UP!"... Most of the time they're not even plugged in.
What about waiting for your shag to inflate, just as your viagra is running out? That's the worst for me.
