One positive from the Swansea game was the quite excellent use of goal line technology, which appears to have been (understandably) lost in the general despair about our performance. It was amazing technology - and great to see it working so well in the Swansea game. Can't believe it took this long to get it into the game. A shame that the goal-line technology was our best player after Rob Green though!
Agreed, there was no way either the linesman or ref could have been 100% sure on whether or not the whole ball crossed the line.....takes all the guess work out of making the decision......
That would have been their first goal without it. I am sure the big clubs hate this, they don't get any advantage: " Aguero's goal was a bit offside and a bit of handball." "It was a Manure goal because it was nearly over the line." "QPR can't expect to be given a goal when the ball was only a few inches over the line." Edit: I made up the last two commentaries.
That's actually interesting...... What if one day, the technology is good enough to have the RF chip on the shirts coordinating with the moment the ball is kicked to detect accuracy of offsides??????? One day it may happen
