If there was one player you would be reluctantly prepared to let leave to free up a large chunk of transfer money.... Who would it be.

For me... It would have to be Tiote who could fetch £25m

Definitely Tiote. He will almost certainly go for £20 mil + and we have Amalfitano, Perch, Bigi, Vuckic, Abeid, Jonas and Gosling who can all play in centre mid with Cab.

There a very few genuine great Defensive midfielders around at the moment. Tiote is indispensible IMO.

Cabaye or Tiote. A CM pair like this is the making of a great PL team.

Would rather keep Tiote and do without Carroll.

So which player would you reluctantly sacrifice, which was the question in the topic title?

I think Tiote is the option really. Considering the players you'd get huge fees for would be him, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse and Ba (once his cheapo window ends) I'd say he's the most replaceable of the group. Good topic.

Santon definitely counts, I would really like him to reach his potential at our club, heaps to offer, great prospect, improved loads, he's a real money maker if you're talking from a business point of view.

Evening all, been reading the board for ages (years, old 606 included). Finally decided to post!

Tiote for me can't be replaced, he makes us tick. Even in last night's friendly our performance improved by at least 20% when he came on. In my opinion he's a good as essien was in his prime. But as for the original question i'd go for Ba, simply because he's asking to be played as a striker this year, but for me we play our best stuff in a 4-3-3 and can't see demba being happy played on the left!

If I had my way we'd be buying a first choice left and rb this summer. Santon worries me.
